A Nebraska man was killed when his car hit a tree in Riley County  on Friday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Twenty-three year old Colton J. Schoenrock of Fairbury, Nebraska was driving a 2003 Mazda passenger car northbound on U77 north of Manhattan. The car went off the road into the west ditch and struck a tree. The vehicle vaulted over a driveway and landed on the passenger side of the vehicle. Schoenrock died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
