4:20 p.m. Ellis County Rural Fire Director Dick Klaus told Hay Post exhaust from a pickup is being blamed for starting the Tuesday afternoon fire southwest of Hays. The blaze burned 5 large bales and was contained by the rapid response of fire fighters. Nobody was injured.
3:25 p.m. The fire is out and most of the fire fighters are returning to Hays.
2:16 p.m. The fire southwest of Hays is under control. A number of hay bales were burned. Some of them are being rolled out and allowed to burn out. Smoke from the blaze can be seen from town.
1:45 p.m. Ellis County Rural Fire Company 5 has been dispatch to report of a fire near a structure in the 1200 Block of Mount Pleasant Road, southwest of Hays. Few additional details are available. Stay tuned to Eagle Radio and Check Hays Post for more information as it becomes available.
