PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Now that’s the kind of homecoming Andy Reid had in mind.

The former Eagles coach returned to the City of Brotherly Love with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs, who improved to 3-0 by beating mistake-prone Philadelphia 26-16. Kansas City has won more games already under Reid than it did all of last season.

His Chiefs players even gave their coach a Gatorade bath in the waning seconds. Reid only smiled.

The Chiefs’ defense forced five turnovers and sacked Michael Vick five times, 3 1/2 by linebacker Justin Houston.

Kansas City, which has not had a giveaway this season, got a 38-yard interception return by Eric Berry for a touchdown, and a 3-yard scoring run by Jamaal Charles. Ryan Succop (SUHK’-uhp) kicked four field goals.

Reid led the Eagles to nine playoff appearances, six division titles, five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl in 14 seasons before he was fired after going 4-12 last year.

The Eagles fell to 1-2 after their eighth straight home loss dating to last season.
