Forty-two old year Shawna R. Odle has pleaded no contest in Pawnee County District Court to charges that she stabbed her husband in an August  domestic incident in Larned.

Odle pleaded no contest  to one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  According to the Pawnee County District Attorney’s office, after accepting the plea, District Judge Bruce Gatterman found that the offense was committed with a deadly weapon and was an act of domestic violence.  Under Kansas law, Odle will be required to register as a violent offender and submit to a domestic violence assessment.

Odle’s husband arrived at Pawnee Valley Hospital on August 11th with severe stab wounds to his abdomen, and was then transported to Hays Medical Center in critical condition.  Hospital officials notified the Larned Police Department who later arrested Odle.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 24th in Pawnee County District Court.  Odle remains free on a supervised bond.
