10/01/13 An update was provided on the injury accident that took place Tuesday in Hays. According to Lt. Brandon Wright with the Hays Police Department, a scooter driven by Sharron Trimm-Stone, 45, Hays, struck a parked vehicle in the 1200 Blk of Fort St. There was only minor damage to both vehicles.
Stone attempted to make contact with the owner of the parked vehicle. After she was unable to make contact, she left the scene to retrieve paper to leave a note on the car. Upon arrival at the scene, Stone met officers and explained she was coming back to leave a note so the owner could contact her. Lt. Wright stated that given the situation and reason, Stone’s leaving the scene was not a criminal act.
Stone suffered a minor injury to her leg, but was not transported by EMS. She was ultimately arrested for Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License and a Rooks County arrest warrant.
The Rooks County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Sharron Trimm-Stone had been in Rooks Co. custody for a Plainville Municipal warrant for failure to appear.
