Lt. Scott Siemsen of the Salina Police Department said officers were sent to the Kwik Shop at Crawford and Fairdale just after 11pm because a 5-year-old girl came into the store looking for her mom.

The child told officers she lived in an apartment across the street.

When police went to the apartment a 3-year-old boy answered the door and said his mom wasn’t home. A 1-year-old girl was also found in the apartment.

Police were able to contact the mom, 22-year-old Jessica Segura who returned to the apartment about 11:50pm.

Segura was arrested on requested charges of child endangerment and driving on a suspended driver’s license
