A two vehicle crash Thursday morning crash near Leoti left one man dead and another injured.

According to the Kansas Highway patrol at approximately 6:51 am 76-yr-old Hilton Tokoi of Leoti was driving a pickup westbound on K-96 about 2 miles east of Leoti.  At the same time, 58-yr-old Noah James Jeffries of Leoti was eastbound on K-96 in a Freightliner semi truck pulling a tractor trailer.

The pickup traveled left of center and struck the semi head-on in the eastbound lane of travel.  The semi continued eastbound through the ditch and came to rest facing east on the south side of the road.  The pickup rotated approximately 180 degrees and came to rest on its roof facing southeast.

Tokoi was pronounced dead at the scene, Jeffries was taken to Wichita County Hospital with injuries.
