Rebecca Greer, Early Childhood Connections Teacher, has won the 2014 National Head Start Teacher of the Year award.
In order to be considered for the national title, nominees first have to win at both the state and regional levels. USD 489 Early Childhood Connections submitted the nomination at the state level earlier this year. The nomination included a biography as well as a description of her experience, training, and contributions to the Head Start Program and the community. Greer has been with the school district since 1997.
As NHSA Teacher of the Year, Greer will receive a commemorative plaque, cash award, and free registration for the 2014 NHSA Annual Conference and awards banquet to be held in Long Beach, CA in April 2014.
