The board also approved the proposed changes to the contract language for teacher evaluations.

The district currently evaluate every teacher annually. The new language, per state statute, will require that first and second year teachers be evaluated twice by the 60th day of each semester.

Teachers with 3 or 4 years of experience would be evaluated once by February 15. Those with more experience would be evaluated every three years by February 15.

Employment was also approved by the board for Tracy Kaiser, USD 489 business manager, Carmen Morales-Hernandez, O’Loughlin ELL para; Janie Griffin, Munjor ECC teacher assistant; Ashley Taylor, O’Loughlin secretary; Tammi Robben, HMS language lab para; Marei Hinzman, Wilson, special ed para; Kayla Stephens, Wilson special ed para and Gloria Pfannenstiel, Roosevelt, lunchroom supervisor.

The Board also approved authorizing the Board President to sign the administrator, teacher, and Rule 10 (coaching) contracts for the 2013-14 school year. The contract for Curriculum Director Shanna Dinkel was pulled for revisions and will be ready for the next board meeting.
