Storms up and down the Kansas and Colorado state line on Thursday evening saw wind gusts in excess of 70 miles per hour. Wind Damage was reported in Goodland. Law enforcement told Hays Post that several power poles were down from the high winds. However, they didn’t get much rain.
Hamilton County Kansas reported wind gusts of 84 miles per hour. Wallace County reported 78 mile per hour wind. Colby had gusts of 70 miles per hour and Grinnell had gusts of 68 miles per hour but the Sheriff’s office told Hays Post no wind damage was reported.
Wind damage was also reported near Lakin in Southwest Kansas. There were two reports of hail in western Kansas Thursday evening.
