Two Arrested in Drug Bust

The Wakeeney Police Department have arrested two individuals as part of a drug bust. Police Chief Terry Eberle told Hays Post a tip from an informant led to an investigation by officers. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Wakeeney and two suspects were arrested.

James Douglas Smith and Barbara Sue Farber were arrested on multiple drug charges including Cultivation & distribution of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school. Chief Eberle says that each suspect is being held on $150,000 bond in the Trego County Jail.

Chief Eberle added that this case is leading to additional, separate investigations but he was unable to comment on those at this time.
