A Great Bend man was injured in a Thursday night crash in Stafford County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol thirty-two year old Steven A. Denio of Great Bend was driving a 1993 Chevy pickup eastbound on NE 5th just east of Stafford at high rate of speed.

When the roadway changed from blacktop to gravel, the driver lost control, entered the right ditch, and struck the embankment. Denio was transported to the hospital in Stafford. He was not wearing a seat belt.
