NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Rhett Akins is no slouch when it comes to singing and writing songs. But he says he marvels at – and is a little envious of – his son’s ability to write and sing. The elder Akins says he has “really had to practice hard to play guitar and write songs.” But he says for his son, it seems singing and lyrics have “just been pouring out of his mouth since he was at least 17 or 18.” Dad says he doesn’t know whether his son just he just has a gift – or picked up the skills by being around the business since he was a kid. Their latest album is due out today.
