Tigers Fall Short at No. 5 Kansas

The Fort Hays State Tigers built an early five-point lead on No. 5 Kansas in their exhibition game Tuesday at Allen Fieldhouse, but the Jayhawks answered with a 29-8 run in building a 22-point lead and go on the beat the Tigers 92-75. Kansas opened the second half on a 10-1 run and led by as many as 32 in the second half before the Tigers closed the game down the stretch.

Game Highlights

Dwayne Brunson led two Tigers in double-figures with 15 points, Craig Nicholson added 16 along with five assists. Kansas was led by Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden who both scored 13. The Tigers shoot 49-percent from the floor including 8-of-19 from three-point range. KU shoots 51-percent but just 5-of-19 from beyond the arc.
