A 52-year-old Saline County man was arrested Thursday afternoon on a warrant in connection with an incident October 30th at the Saline County Tag Office.
According to a news release from the Saline County Sheriffs Office, Steven Lee Streit was arrested on charges of Criminal Threat and Disorderly Conduct
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said Wednesday morning that deputies responded to the tag office over the noon hour on October 30th after Streit made threats after becoming frustrated while trying to renew tags and learning he had delinquent taxes.
The Sheriff said Streit after being sent to the treasurer’s office, then the office of the county counselor, returned to the tag office and allegedly made a threat of getting guns and blowing up the place.
Tag office staff pushed a panic button, and deputies on the 3rd floor of the building which houses the district court, went to the office and talked to Streit who was then allowed to leave.
After a review of the incident by the Saline County Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Streit.
