Teen critically injured in Thursday crash

KHPA teenage driver was critically injured in a Thursday afternoon crash in Barton County.

According to the Kansas Highway  Patrol eighteen-year old Cassidy James Moss of Olmitz was driving a 1993 Buick southbound on NW 90th Ave in Barton County and 45-year-old Raul Rivas-Cruz was eastbound in a 2006 Chevy truck on K4.

The Buick failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of K4 and NW 90th Ave and collided with the truck.

Both vehicles entered the southeast ditch where the truck overturned.

Moss, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to the hospital in Wichita.  Rivas-Cruz and Javier Lopez-Chaves, age 35 of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a passenger in the truck, were transported to the hospital in Hoisington. They were both wearing seat belts.
