The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the report of a burglary at a business located in the 1700 block of 130th Avenue in Ellis.
According to Ellis County Sheriff, Ed Harbin, a .50 caliber black powder rifle and other miscellaneous tools were taking from a welding shed at 1719 130th Avenue, in the early morning hours of November 6th.
The sheriff said the suspect gained access to the shed, where the rifle and tools were stored by cutting the lock.
Sheriff Harbin said the investigation is ongoing but they have identified a suspect in connection with the case.
