12:10 p.m. update (AP) — Wichita police say a 29-year-old customer at a convenience store was shot to death when he tried to intervene in an attempted robbery.
A suspect is in custody after the shooting Sunday evening in southeast Wichita.
Wichita police on Monday identified the victim as Jeffery Jones. Police say a 19-year-old man with a gun demanded money from a clerk and Jones was shot when he argued with the suspect.
The suspect walked out of the store and shot at several cars before he was arrested. No one else was injured.
6:12 a.m.(AP) — Police say a suspect is in custody after a customer was shot to death at a convenience store.
The shooting occurred Sunday evening in southeast Wichita.
Wichita police spokesman Sgt. Donald Kimball says the victim, a man in his 30s, just happened to be in the store at the time of the shooting.
The suspect was later found in a neighborhood near the convenience store.
