Traffic Alert: Union Pacific Train UPDATE

Union Pacific

11:50 a.m.  According to Union Pacific Spokesman Mark Davis, “The train was going from Colorado to Memphis with 105 cars of coal.  There was a failure between the two radio transmitters that talk to each other between the first locomotive and the locomotive at the end of the train.  With a failure like this, the train is not able to be moved until the transmitters are talking to each other again. 5:25 a.m.  A west bound Union Pacific Train has suffered some equipment problems and is currently blocking the  8th and Vine Street crossing in Hays.  Union Pacific crews are working to determine what needs to be done to correct the issue before they move the train.
