Fort Hays State head baseball coach Steve Johnson announced the signing of Connor Boyer from Southeast of Saline High School in Gypsum, Kan. Boyer is currently a senior in high school and will join the program in 2014-15.
Boyer, a pitcher and corner infielder, is a two-time first team all-league selection at Southeast of Saline. As a junior in 2013, he hit .578 with 27 RBI and 37 runs scored, while helping the Trojans to a league title. He played American Legion ball for the Salina Pestinger Falcons in the summer of 2013, hitting .370 with 31 RBI and 41 runs scored. As a pitcher for the Falcons, he posted a 0.98 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 14.1 innings of work.
“We are excited to have Connor join the Tiger Baseball family next year,” said Johnson. “He does a great job both on the field and in the classroom and we’re looking for great things out of him in the future here at Fort Hays State.”
