The Ellis County Historical Society is hosting their 19th Annual Christmas Open House tonight, Friday December 6th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The museum has been decorated for the holiday season and will be open after hours in conjunction with the Hays Arts Council Winter Art Gallery Walk.
Events people can look forward this year are:
- Live Music (from Crossroads, Prairie Timbre, Solid Sound and Bill Wyse)
- Museum store will be open
- Treats
- Special Exhibit “All I Want for Christmas” in the Stone Church
- Mr. and Mrs. Claus greeting children of all ages
- A volunteer photographer on site (pictures with the Claus family are free)
- Local author Mary Kay Schippers autographing her new book
Admission during the open house is free. Executive Director: Donald Westfall said that while pictures will be provided for free, the public is encouraged to bring their own cameras to take their own pictures during the open house.
