Funding for K-12 education again will be at the forefront of the 2014 Kansas legislature when it opens Jan. 13 in Topeka.
Legislators are awaiting a ruling by the Kansas Supreme Court regarding that funding.
“They’ll likely follow the 2006 Montoya ruling,” predicts 110th District Rep. Travis Couture-Lovelady, R-Palco, “and they’re overstepping their boundaries:”
Couture-Lovelady will take on a new responsibility in the state house as the House State and Federal Affairs vice-chairman.
