WAKEENEY — Trego County Sheriff Richard Hanks has confirmed an inmate in the Trego County jail, Barbara Sue Farber, 50, died this morning at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital.
Hanks said Farber was taken to the WaKeeney hospital after complaining of chest pains at approximately 1 a.m. this morning. She died at approximately 8 a.m. this morning while in the hospital.
Farber was arrested Oct. 17 with charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and cultivation/distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Farber was listed as a witness in the case against John Reeder, former Trego County USD 208 school board president, who was arrested Thursday at his home on a variety of drug charges.
Reeder was released on community corrections after a bond hearing Tuesday in WaKeeney.
