“We are excited about working with the Heartland Community Foundation because their investments have been very successful and that organization is growing and doing some great things for this three-county area,” said Glenn Sears, director of the Plainville Community Foundation. “We are looking forward to being in a position to use the sizeable earnings off our endowed fund to support some worthy programs and projects in Rooks County.”

“We are extremely happy the Plainville Community Foundation has partnered with our HCF.  The PCF fund is the twenty-fifth fund to be established with our HCF since its inception in 2007.  We also want the citizens of Rooks County to know that all the earnings off the PCF fund are restricted for use in Rooks County,” said Mike Koerner, HCF board chairman said.

“It’s great to have the PCF come on board with us,” said Bob Lowen, executive director of the HCF.” We’re hoping other such entities in our three-county service area follow suit because financially it really behooves charitable organizations to pursue such a program.”

Lowen said the HCF, an affiliate of the Greater Salina Community Foundation, works with individuals, churches, schools, foundations, health organizations, hospitals, the arts and other charitable groups to help them establish  permanently endowed funds that will provide financial help for those entities’ needs now and far into the future. Lowen can be reached at (785) 621-4090 or [email protected].
