Just as everyone is getting back into a routine after the holidays, Mother Nature is doing her best to keep people off the roads across much of the U.S.
Severe winter storm Hercules dumped deep snow in the Northeast and extreme cold penetrated the central U.S.
As a result, the American Red Cross says in a news release, blood drives have been cancelled in these locations and elsewhere there are low donor turnouts.
Donors in unaffected areas are urged to help make up the donations lost in the weather-impacted areas.
