Lady Tigers ranked in lastest WBCA Top 25 poll

FHSU Sports Information

The Fort Hays State women’s basketball made its debut in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 this week, pulling in 85 votes to sit at No. 23 in the latest poll, released Tuesday (Jan. 14).

FHSU (11-2, 5-2 MIAA) is in the midst of a three-game winning streak, and outscored MIAA opponents Southwest Baptist, Lindenwood and Lincoln by an average of 31.3 points last week.

The Tigers had received votes all season, but broke into the actual Top 25 for the first time this season – and the first time in nearly a year.  The last time FHSU was listed in the Top 25 was last season’s Jan. 15th poll, where the team was No. 21.

Other MIAA teams listed in the poll are No. 3 Emporia State, No. 8 Central Missouri, Missouri Southern (RV – 12) and Pittsburg State (RV – 3).
