Waterline replacement to start on Fort Street (VIDEO)

Workers began dropping off the blue PVC waterline pipe this morning for an upcoming Fort Street project in Hays.

The city’s contractor, APAC, is scheduled to start work Jan. 27 beginning at 20th Street and proceeding north to 27th Street.

Assistant Hays Public Works Director John Braun said the project will require traffic to be diverted:

waterline truck — A worker tightens down the remaining cargo before moving to another location to drop off more waterline pipes.

Letters have been sent to adjacent property owners. A public meeting about the project will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hays City Hall.
