Temporary lane closures could be occurring during the next few weeks along Interstate 70 in Sherman County as contractors begin seeding the right of way along the newly constructed lanes.
Beginning at the Colorado/Kansas state line and extending 12 miles east, workers will be performing permanent seeding operations along the east and westbound right of way as well the center median of the interstate.
“Traffic will be minimally affected as one lane of directional travel will remain open during the lane closures,” said KDOT Area Engineer Eric Oelschlager.
Please use caution, pay attention to the work zone signs, and respect workers when driving through any road construction zone. Slow down and “Give ‘Em A Brake.”
KDOT awarded the $257,743 seeding contract to Truelsen Blumenthal-Soil-Tek, Grimes, Iowa.
