Two in custody after chase, manhunt ends in Hoisington

Great Bend Post

HOISINGTON — Two men are in jail after attempting to elude police Sunday in Barton County. According to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, Jonas Grubb and Jason McKinnon are in custody after they ran from a traffic stop.

According to Sheriff Brian Bellendir, a deputy tried to stop a car heading northbound on U.S. 281 just after 9:30 a.m. The driver reportedly refused to stop, which led to a high-speed chase that ended in Hoisington where the vehicle hit stop sticks just inside the city limits. Both men tried to flee on foot, police said.

Grub was captured a short time later. He was wanted on outstanding warrants in Barton County and Great Bend.

Jason McKinnon was not found until just after 3 p.m. hiding in an outbuilding.
