Improving communication is a goal Hays USD 489 board members would like to see improved.  The issue was brought to the table at Monday’s board of education work session.  Board member Josh Waddell said he feels more open communication would increase trust between the board, staff and community members.

Waddell suggested  “talking tours’ where board members would visit schools. A weekly blog on the USD 489 website and weekly “board briefs,” which would be emailed to staff  is already in the planning stages according to Elizabeth Jaeger, assistant to the superintendent.
