TOPEKA — Thirteen beef industry stakeholders from across the state participated in the Kansas Livestock Association Leadership Conference Jan. 20 in 22 in Topeka. The three-day educational seminar exposed attendees to various aspects of KLA, the legislative process, industry advocacy and beef marketing.
From western Kansas, Erin and Jared Petersilie, La Crosse, and Michelle Busch, Scott City, participated, according to the KLA.
While at the Capitol, the group attended a Senate Agriculture Committee meeting and heard from KLA lobbyists on how they protect member interests during the legislative process. Conference attendees also had a chance to meet with their respective legislators to discuss important beef and dairy industry issues.
