Winners of the second annual Kansas Day Photo Contest at the Hays Public Library will be announced this evening.
There were 51 entries, according to Kansas Room librarian Lucia Flaim.
Photographers of all ages were encouraged to enter their Kansas-themed pictures in the categories of Nature, People, Limestone and Kansicana.
“The Kansicana category covers events, objects or activities that connect Kansans to their history or cultural heritage, ” said Flaim in a news release.
A panel of four judges reviewed and ranked the entries. First-, second- and third-place winners were selected for each submission category in each age group.
The awards reception is at 6 p.m. tonight in the HPL Kansas Room.
