Starting today and continuing for approximately two weeks, a survey team from the Kansas Department of Transportation will start surveying along U.S. 83 in Sheridan County.
The survey work will take place along the corridor from the Thomas/Sheridan county line east to the Decatur/Sheridan county line.
The survey is necessary for the detailed design of the proposed 2016 improvement of 11 miles of this section of the highway.
Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor. When it becomes necessary for crew members to enter private property, they will first obtain permission from the landowner or tenant.
