Fort Hays State senior infielder/designated hitter Horace Johnson has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-America Team for 2014, released on Thursday (Jan. 30). Johnson was named to the second team as a designated hitter.
Johnson was a Daktronics All-Central Region First Team and Rawlings/ABCA All-Central Region Second Team selection last year at designated hitter. Johnson batted .336 with nine home runs, nine doubles, 34 RBI, and a team-leading .587 slugging percentage in 2013. He is one of three starters returning to the Tiger lineup this year.
