RUSSELL — A lighting project near Russell is one of several bids approved this month by the Kansas Department of Transportation for state highway construction and maintenance projects.
KDOT announced Tuesday in a news release there will be a new lighting project at the Interstate 70/U.S. 40/Pioneer Road Interchange. The location, which Russell residents have complained for years is poorly lit, is at Exit 189.
J Warren Co., Topeka, will do the job at a cost of $137,025.
The letting took place Jan. 15 in Topeka.
