Josh Dreher was a happy man today as he announced the United Way of Ellis County’s “Live United” campaign has reached it $490,000 fundraising goal — money that will all go back to help nonprofit organizations in the community.
Dreher, the 2013 campaign director, said the official kick-off for the campaign was in August.
“It took a lot of months of hard work, long hours, and many volunteers,” Dreher said.
But worth every minute.
“Before I got involved with United Way, I really was not aware what it was all about,” Dreher said. “I have visited with the nonprofits we work with and know how they benefit the community. … Some people do not realize the issues and struggles we have in Ellis County.”
