WaKeeney man arrested in murder investigation

WAKEENEY – On Thursday, agents of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and WaKeeney Police Department arrested Scott R. Bollig, 30, WaKeeney, on suspicion of murder and domestic battery.

The arrest was announced by the Kansas Attorney General’s office Friday.

Bond has been set at $500,000, and the investigation remains ongoing. Formal charges have not been filed at this time. A spokesman for the Attorney General’s office said Friday evening no further details were forthcoming.

The inmate roster at the Trego County jail lists one of the pending allegations as application of certain crimes to an unborn child.

Any criminal prosecution resulting from the investigation will be handled by the Kansas Attorney General’s office at the request of the Trego County Attorney. Any charges that might arise from this investigation are accusations, and the individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty, the news release noted.
