Kansas City, Mo. – Central Missouri earns the top seed at the 2014 MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament as the bracket was released today. The Jennies claim the MIAA title and will advance directly to Kansas City for the tournament quarterfinals.
Also advancing directly to Kansas City are second seed Emporia State, third seed Pittsburg State and fourth seeded Missouri Southern. All four teams will await first round opponents on Thursday, March 6 from Municipal Auditorium.
In the first round games scheduled for Monday, March 3 fifth seeded Fort Hays State will host #12 seed Nebraska-Kearney at 7 p.m. from Hays, Kan. Sixth seeded Washburn will host #11 seed Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. from Topeka, Kan.
Seventh seeded Lindenwood will open against tenth seed Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. from St. Charles, Mo. In the final match-up eighth seeded Northwest Missouri will face off with ninth seeded Northeastern State at 7 p.m. from Maryville, Mo.
