Despite Tuesday’s short spring tease, winter weather is expected to return Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Dodge City is calling for a wintry mix of precipitation, with the possibility of sleet, freezing rain and snow until approximately 1 p.m.
The front is expected to encompass much of northwest Kansas, including Ellis and Trego counties.
Up to an inch of snow is possible, the NWS said, and winds could gust up to 30 mph.
The temperature will hover right around the freezing point, with a nighttime low of 19 predicted.
Forecasters also warned the precipitation also could cause roadways to become slick and visibility could be limited.
By Thursday, high temperatures are expected to return to the mid-50s.
