In a news release Wednesday, SHPTV announced the art auction will take place live on Smoky Hills Public Television from 7 to 10 p.m. April 12. The art covers a variety of topics and mediums including sculpture, photography, oils, watercolor, blown glass and jewelry.

“The variety and quality of the artwork for this year’s auction is impressive,” said Event Coordinator Tricia Flax. “We are so appreciative of the artists willing to donate their pieces to raise money for Smoky Hills Public Television.”

Prior to the live, televised auction, the artwork will be on exhibit at the Shafer Gallery on the campus of Barton Community College in Great Bend. The exhibit will open with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. March 16. The public is invited to attend the reception or view the artwork at the gallery through April 6.
