FHSU Sports Information
Fort Hays State women’s golf finished 14th at the UCO KickingBird Classic in Edmond, Okla., its first spring event of the 2013-14 season. It was also the a MIAA sactioned event. FHSU finished eighth out of the 10 MIAA teams competing in the event at the KickingBird Golf Course.
Natalie Bethel led Fort Hays State with a two-round total of 177 after rounds of 88 and 89, tying for 62nd. Megan DeWerff had a total of 183 with rounds of 94 and 89. Kaycee Beilman shot a 94 and 104 for a total of 198, while Quillen Eichhorn was one stroke back of Beilman with rounds of 97 and 102. Samantha Hobson withdrew from the tournament on the first day of competition.
Oklahoma Christian won the tournament as a team, shooting a two-day total of 611. Arkansas Tech (613) and Oklahoma City University (614) followed. Central Oklahoma was the top MIAA school in fourth with a total of 625.
FHSU holds the FHSU Invitational in Mesa, Arizona next week (Mar. 17-18) at Dobson Ranch Golf Course.
