Arrest made in Kansas identity theft case

Junction City– Police have reported the arrest of Leslie Shawn Thomas, 36, Junction City in connection with the alleged illegal use of  a bank card at several businesses.

According to Geary County Detention Center booking records Thomas was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of theft, six counts Identity theft, one count of forgery, and six counts of criminal use of a financial card.

Junction City police detective Jeff Childs reported that Thomas was arrested in connection with alleged actions that involved  illegally obtaining a bank card belonging to another person,  and that she had “used it at numerous locations here in Junction City.”

Childs added the businesses included Wal Mart, Dillons, and a few other gas stations and restaurants. He estimated the loss at close to $2,000.

Thomas is expected to have a Geary County District Court first appearance on Thursday.
