Rooks County joined a growing list of Kansas counties that have enacted burn bans in wake of the dry conditions.

Monday night, the Ellis County Commission voted to ban all outdoor burning until further notice. The sale and discharge of fireworks reminds banned in the county as well, under a resolution passed by the commission last year.

In north-central Kansas, Norton, Osborne and Phillips are all under burn bans.

At this time, no burn permits are being issued in Logan, Gove and Sherman counties in western Kansas.
