OAKLEY — An Oakley woman was hospitalized after two trucks collided at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas County.

KHP

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Volvo semi was eastbound on Interstate 70 approximately 5 miles north of Oakley when the driver, Howard A. Faul, Indianapolis, reached to the floor to pick something up.

The KHP said Faul’s semi then rear-ended a 2002 International semi with a trailer driven by Maricia A. Hanshaw, 50, Oakley.

Faul’s truck overturned in the south ditch. He was not injured.

Hanshaw was transported to Logan County Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Both drivers reportedly were wearing seat belts.
