SALINA — A rural Salina man was arrested twice over the weekend for driving under the influence. Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said deputies were sent to 4700 block of West Pleasant Hill Road approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday after a woman called authorities about a domestic issue.
The woman told police Robert Brown, 62, had come home and told her he had shot out a window in his truck while driving. The woman left the home after contacting authorities.
When deputies arrived at the home, Brown would not answer the door and had shut off the lights.
Deputies waited down the road and, a short time later, Brown drove past the deputies, then refused to stop after deputies attempted to stop the pickup. They reported there was a brief chase before Brown stopped in the 2300 block of North Halstead Road.
Brown was booked into the Saline County jail approximately 10:30 p.m. on charges that included driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding, criminal use of a weapon, and damage to property.
After being released from jail approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police said someone gave Brown a ride back to his truck and, just before 6 a.m., a deputy stopped the truck again near Interstate 70, where Brown was arrested again for driving under the influence.
