Four injured in Wednesday night I-70 accident

KHPEllis- Four people from Missouri were injured in an I-70 accident in Ellis County just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2008 Honda, driven by William Jose Harlan, 60, Joplin, Mo., was traveling east on I-70 at milepost 145.

The driver believes he fell asleep and crossed the center median. The Honda struck a westbound 2008 Ford F-450 driven by Tracy T. Bryant, 46, WaKeeney.

Harlan and passengers in the Honda Naomi N. Brannen, 28, Phillip M. Harlan, 24, and Andrew S. Harlan, 28, all of Joplin were transported to Hays Medical Center.

Bryant refused treatment at the scene.
The KHP reports only Andrew S. Harlan and Bryant were wearing seat belts.
