HHS softball sweeps Goodland in Hearld’s return

A successful return for Hannah Hearld to the Hays High softball team. After missing all of last season with and ACL injury, the junior struck out 16 and walked just one as the Indians beat Goodland 7-0 in game one of their doubleheader. Hearld pitched four innings of relief in the Indains 9-2 win in game two and struck out 10 while walking one.

Game 1: Hays 7, Goodland 0
Hannah Hearld struck out 16 while walking just one, picking up the win. Haley Wells had three hits and drove in two. Hearld went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run.

Game 2: Hays 9, Goodland 2
Hearld pitched four innings in relief, striking out 10 and walking one. She also collected three hits, driving in a run and scoring twice. Kaylie Schoendaller and Julie Balzer both had two hits. Starter Madison Prough went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two.
