ROCK PORT, MO—A Kansas man was injured in a Saturday afternoon motorcycle crash in Atchison County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol a 2007 Harley Davidson driven by Billy E. Newman, 54, Wichita was northbound on I-29 three miles south of Rock Port, Mo.

The rear tire blew out causing the driver to lose control. The motorcycle skidded off the east side of the road overturning onto its side and ejecting the driver. Newman was transported to Fairfax hospital in serious condition.

The MSHP reported Newman was wearing a helmet.
