FHSU women’s golf ginishes ninth at Tiburon Invitational

Fort Hays State women’s golf finished ninth at the Tiburon Invitational held in Omaha, Nebraska at the Tiburon Golf Club. The tournament was hosted by Concordia University of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Final Results

Fort Hays State finished with a two-day team score of 728, 66 strokes back of team champion Iowa Western Community College. The Tigers were third out of the three MIAA schools competing, finishing behind Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Western.

Natalie Bethel led FHSU with a two-day total of 176 after rounds of 86 and 90, finishing 19th. Megan DeWerff had rounds of 85 and 94 for a total of 179, tying for 24th. Samantha Hobson finished 29th with rounds of 93 and 90 for a total of 183. Kaycee Beilman carded rounds of 94 and 96 for a total of 190 and tied for 40th. Quillen Eichhorn had rounds of 94 and 105 for a total of 199 and was 49th.

Joana Yanez of Iowa Western won the tournament as an individual with a total of 162.

The final tournament on the 2013-14 slate for the FHSU women is the MIAA Championship, held in three weeks from now (Apr. 21-23) at the Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan.
