The second annual Walk MS will be April 12 at Aubel-Bickel Park in Hays, hosted by by the Multiple Sclerosis Society with the help of Leadership 310 students Fort Hays State University.
Approximately 80 walkers took part last year, and organizers are hoping for at least 100 this year. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 10:30 a.m. Participants also can register online at Walk.MSmidamerica.org. There is no entry fee, but donations will be accepted to help support programs, services and cutting-edge research to find a cure for MS. D
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that attacks the central nervous system. There is no certain answer for what causes MS and, because of that, there is no known cure. There are approximately 4,600 people in Kansas living with MS — more than 50 in Ellis County.
